Mounting SMB shares from NAS

Hello,

 

I'm new to Hifiberry but I really like it. As seen in the titel of this post I have trouble getting the SMB mounts for my NAS to work. I already followed the instructions in

But have no luck, the Music sections remains empty.

 

My system is a RPI 3B with Hifiberry OS 20200805. The directory /data is mounted OK.

 

My /etc/smbconf.conf looks like this (password replaced by asterics):

1,//192.168.0.163/music/,NurLesen,******

Running

/opt/hifiberry/bin/mount-smb.sh

mount -t cifs -o user=,password=,rw /data/library/music/1,//192.168.0.163/music/,NurLesen,******
mount: /data/library/music/1,//192.168.0.163/music/,NurLesen,******: can't find in /etc/fstab.

  I think I see the problem, SMB shares need to use \, not /: Try to replace
  
  //192.168.0.163/music
  
  by 

  \\192.168.0.163\music

  You have to run the mount-smb.sh script again.

  It's not a big deal that there are som extra folder now. However, I notice now that you're using the wrong seperator in smbmounts,conf. Seperator is ";", not ","

  I've seen in this forum that both separators are used, but now changed to ";". Therefor my smbconf loos like:

  But dmesg gives an interesting hint:

  And now I see music under Sources -> Music of the web interface. The output of mount-smb.sh is

  So I think my issue is solved. But anyway I would suggest to update the tutorial "HIFIBERRYOS: HANDLING LOCAL MUSIC LIBRARIES" under https://www.hifiberry.com/docs/hifiberryos/hifiberryos-handling-local-music-libraries/ and recommend vers=2.0. I have my music data stored on a Synology NAS with latest DSM6.2.3 release but still have to use the version option for the SMB mount.
