Problem with HifiberryOS 20220726 after update

I'm running RasPi 3B with DAC2 HD as a ROON endpoint.

After the update to 20220726 I have problems contolling volume.

Increasing the volume it suddenly jumps from for instance -35,dB to -100dB and increasing again only one speaker is running.
It looks that there is no clear signal to controll volume and balance.

I reverted to the previous version 20220228: everything is fine again.

Updating to 20220726 again lead to the problems again. So now I reverted to the previous OS version and this is fine again.

Please can you step into this issue with the new hifiberryOS version and fix it. 

Do you need some additional problem description?

  This looks like the same issue I've seen using Ropieee and device volume.

  Can confirm the same issue with the Hifiberry DAC+ on hifiberryos 20220726 and 20220826.

  Edit: And of course, reverting to 20220228, makes the issue go away, but the device auto-updates itself.

  I've got exact the same problem with different HiFi-Berry components, all attached on Pi4s and playing with roon.
  Version 20220228 seemed to be okay (to avoid the auto update I had to block internet connection for these components in my rooter). But meanwhile the complete roon configuration seems to struggel somehow.

  Sorry, but aren't you a member of the HiFiberry team!?! Woudn't it be your job to report bugs at specific developer platforms!?! I'm not an employee of HiFiBerry and don't feel responsible for taking care about your product quality and software fixing!
  I expect a proper solution with next product update.

  To fix bugs, we need a clear bug report. Otherwise it's not possible to reproduce and fix bugs. There's a template that you only need to fill out:

  This is also necessary as we might have additional questions and comments.

  We give away HiFiBerryOS as a free open source software. It's not a "product", but something that should help users to come to a running system easily. Feel free to use it if you like.
  However, without a bit of help from your side, we won't be able to improve it. HiFiBerryOS is our "hobby project" that we support as good as possible. Without the help of the users, we can't do this.
