Thoughts on why my DAC not recognized?

I Installed the 11/15/2022 hifiberryos on a Pi3 with a touchscreen, and while updating the config.txt file to accommodate the orientation using ssh, I noticed the dac was incorrectly recognized.  I am using a dac plus, however the config file was dac only.  Made the correction manually, rebooted, and the correct dac appeared on my homescreen.  Noticed an 11/18 update was ready, and updated.  After a long while, system appeared stuck on DSP, but eventually rebooted after several attempts. Again, the incorrect Dac is appearing, and i have no sound.
