You need to check with the developers of they are using the latest Linux kernel. The Amp3 requires a kernel from August 2022 or newer.
If you're using it with Roon, you can simply use HiFiBerryOS (https://www.hifiberry.com/os)
I have used the HiFiberryOS too... I was looking for another os to compare...
I'm using Pi3B+ with AMP3 & DSP
It detect all good. But when I connect with spotify (or Roon) and play a music, I hear some white noise being send to speaker... You can hear it clearly when the volume is lowered... It's prominent and loudly audible.
Any ideas?
No unfortunately I can't say anything about this. You need to contact the developers. Note that there is no support for the DSP on these distributions, you won't be able to do any changes on the DSP program and settings.
No I mean the whitenoise is when using the HiFiBerry OS latest version!
What DSP profile did you deploy? Does this also happen without the DSP. Which version of HiFiBerryOS exactly are you using?
I used DSP 13...
I just tried without DSP and the issue is still there..,
Also, when nothing is playing and the device is powered on. If you put your ear next to the tweeter, you could hear some noise (Sound like coil noise)
I originally try to run with "Dali Oberon 3" Speakers and after hearing the noises; I switched to an Old Speaker for safely testing (Elac ELX 8080.. 4Ohm 80W).

Some minimal residual noise is just normal.
Version 221109
This should be ok, but try upgrading to the latest experimental as we implemented some more bug fixes
/opt/hifiberry/bin/update --experimental
If this is also not working, it looks like some hardware problem - with either the Pi or the Amp.
Did that and the Noise is still there... I will try with different PI 3b+ Tomorrow and report back here. Thanks
Update: I tested today with the PI4, Issue is still there..
After some close inspection I found that only 1 speaker output this noise... I then checked the AMP and it seems that there are some noise coming from AMP it's self when the music is Playing.
Sounds like coil whining sound. could be issue with one of the component!
hm.. even weirder... When I used the Volume channel to check Stereo sound... There is no sound when I slide the Balance to the LEFT. On the centre I get both speaker output and on the RIGHT I get sound on Both speakers.
Update: Individually checked speaker in channel, Speaker A is not outputting any volume and Speaker B is outputting sound into both speaker with 1 speaker having the noise and board making the hissing / whining noise
Ok, this might be a hardware problem. We'll open a ticket for this.
