DAC2 Pro RCA Input volume control

Hi,

I have the following hardware setup:

  • Raspberry Pi 4
  • 7" screen (I have also tried without the screen connected)
  • Hardware volume knob setup as per the guide
  • DAC2 Pro
  • AAmp60.

I am using the latest HifiBerryOS

Everything is working really well except I am unable to control the volume when using the RCA connections as input (record player with preamp). The record player plays fine, however I am unable to adjust the volume with the hardware knob, on screen(or in browser) slider or with alsamixer on the command line. All of these show the volume changing, however it does not have an impact on the actual speaker volume.

For all other sources volume control works fine.

  1. Firstly, is it possible to change the volume of the RCA input with my hardware setup?
  2. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can bind the volume of the RCA input to the master volume?

I am not sure if it is relevant, but the content of my hifiberry.state is:

# cat /etc/hifiberry.state
CURRENT_PIMODEL=4
CURRENT_MIXER_CONTROL="Digital"
CURRENT_CARD="DAC2 Pro"
CURRENT_HW="card 0"
CURRENT_HW_SHORT=0
CURRENT_SYSNAME="HiFiBerry"
CURRENT_PLAYERS=""
CURRENT_HATINFO="HiFiBerry DAC2 Pro"
CURRENT_FEATURES="pi bluetooth pi3orlater arm7 localui"
CURRENT_DSPTYPE=""
CURRENT_INTPIN="2"

Thank you for any help.
