Hello,
I connect my PC to Hifiberry via Bluetooth. Everytime something plays to the speakers, the volume gets set to maximum.
For example I play radio through my browser, sound is blasting through the speakers.
When I start a meeting, everyone is shouting at me until I turn down volume.
Sometimes the connection is not made to the speaker and windows says "driver error". Then reconnecting makes it work again.

I have same issue. Whenever starting a Bluetooth stream, hifiberryos volume jumps to full. Amp100, Pi3B+
I can confirm that in my experience, this issue does not exist in my Beocreate system or my DAC+ Pro system. It only happens with the AMP100. All my systems use Pi3B+ and running HifiberryOS.
It would be good to get this sorted.
I have upgraded my AMP100 system from Pi3B+ to Pi4 and still have the issue of bluetooth volume going to maximum each time bluetooth starts. This is very startling and dangerous to hearing and speakers.
Can the team confirm that this is an issue that needs to be looked at?
Unfortunately this is an issue that's out of our control. Different BT devices behave differently and we have neither the time nor the know-how to further look into this. However, we're open for contributions.
As a workaround we might be able to add an option to allow the user to completely disable BT volume control.

For the record, I have 5 systems using a variety of Hifiberry soundcards. This issue only occurs with the one system using AMP100+DSP.
I have tried multiple Android, Iphone & PC devices and also two different Raspberry Pi's; a P3B+ and a Pi4. Each time I have done fresh install of HifiberryOS. Issue always occurs.
I can only surmise that it is an issue specific to AMP100, not to do with other devices.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing do do with the hardware at all as there is no connection of the BT stack to the sound card. However, if you think you can reproduce the problem, please post a full bug report at the HiFiBerryOS at the link above. If we can reproduce it here, there might be a (small) chance that it can be fixed.

After connect BT (hifiberry) and play some sound (YouTube via firefox broser), the OS volume is set to 100%. I made correcion (set to 25% for example). Next song in YT => volume is set to 100% again. Please, give me some(!) soultion.

It's two years later now and I wonder if there are updates on this, or what is the preferred method to deal with this?

No updates. The BT stack just works differently on different BT devices. If there's somebody who can offer a patch, we're happy to integrate it. However, we don't have to devices and the resources to test this, there's nothing we can do. The only option would be to disable volume control on BT in general. I'm not sure if sombody would be happy with this.
