Convert DAC+ HW 2.6 from RCA to phone jack

Hi!

I have a DAC+ Standard RCA (HW 2.6) and want to convert it into a "phone jack" version. 

Can I just de-solder the RCA terminals and add a phone jack? Do I have to add the jack from below the board or from the top if I want to keep the channels correct?

Any other things to consider? I found an older post where someone wanted to add the jack to HW 2.3 and the response was that you had to bridge to pads and connect a ground wire.
The to pads in question (55 and 56) seem to be already populated on HW 2.6. Not sure about the ground.

  Nevermind, I did a continuity check and it seems the jack contacts are connected to the channels as well as ground.

  However, it seems with the mechanically fitting print mount jacks I found (Cliff JY039-3P and JY039-5P) the connections are layed out in a way were you would have to mount them from the top to keep left and right channels correct. This unfortunately results in a less compacts Pi/HAT package (given my intention to de-solder the RCA jacks and re-create the DAC+ phone jack version).

  Does anyone know of a jack socket that fits the HifiBerry DAC+ board (HW 2.6) and is layed out in a way that would allow for channel-correct mounting from below?

  What about the jack in the HiFiBerry shop? How is this supposed to be mounted on HW 2.6 of the DAC+ RCA?

  Or is there a permanent software solution to swap channels (I'm using piCorePlayer)?

  HiFiBerryOS offers L/R swapping in the "Channels" settings.
