Failed to start HiFiBerry startup / no sound

I have a Hifiberry DAC+ DSP and a Rpi 3b+ running HifiberryOS. But I don`t get any sound output. (When connecting some old CD player to my amp it works fine, so the problem must be somewhere at the RPi/Hifiberry, but I couldn`t find it)

From software side, playback seems ok, i.e.:

mpc insert sample.mp3mpc play

Shows the music file being played.

Furthermore, outputs from aplay looks ok:

# aplay -l

I see some suspicious dmesg logs:

When I connect some headphones to the RPi itself I hear a constant loud buzzing sound (no matter if playback is active or not).

Any ideas what could be wrong? I also tried with another OS (volumino), but there is also no output from the HifiBerry at  all.
