Anton Noting the same issue.. seems to be actively ignored by Hifiberry.
Seen lots of other threads about similar behaviour.
Have a bunch of Hifiberry Amp2's on pi4's and they have no "pops" (works great)
but if I use DACHD (with an amplifier) or the AMP100 I get these "pops" when you power on and off, but also when you start new songs (when bit-rate changes) .. (I use Roon)
This is super annoying.. I was hoping to be able to use these DAC's to make a cost effective multi-room solution with more solid amplifiers but sadly with all these pops it's no use.
A real shame with the otherwise great sound quality..

P. Martin Amplifiers and speaker pop are well documented in the world of audio. It's my understanding that your pop comes from the amp, and it reflects the conditions on its input. If you kill the power suddenly to the HiFiBerry, you set the conditions for a pop to occur by creating irregular voltages on the Amp inputs that have nothing to do with the HiFiBerry's ability to run correctly.
I don't follow the concept that the Berry is responsible for anything once you kill the power, but things are rarely binary So there is a grey area ofc, and the amp hat complicates things. But I thought I'd mention this is the nature of amps.
