I've been running HBOS on a Pi4 2GB with a class 2 microsd. However the interface seems very slow to open the now playing window and such.
I also have a Pi compatible SSD case w/ usb 3.0. How do I get HBOS to usb boot? Will the change to SSD improve performance?
HiFiBerryOS doesn't support USB boot today.
Any way to speed up animations?
If you mean the interface directly on the Pi: Probably not. This would require a better browser but we couldn't yet find one that works in this environment.
Not directly on the Pi. The Pi is connected over ethernet. The web browser on the mac and iPhone is quite slow to open the MPD browser and the now playing window. Also slow to load cover art
Do you have a large music collection? This is still slow and would require some major rewrite of the UI. Not sure if/when we can find time for this.
Not really large. tried it with about 100gb flac files. Maybe 50 albums. Just want to be sure I'm not bottlenecking it with the hardware (microSD).
If not, then I'll wait!
I don't think so. New cover always take some time as it takes a bit for the UI to detect a new song.
