HiFiBerry team Yes, the Amp100 works with 4-8 Ohm speakers.
-
florit work it with only 8 Ohm speakers too? mean 8 Ohm 120Watt RMS / 240Watt Music power / 300Watt Max peak

HiFiBerry team Yes, it works with 8 Ohm speakers.

florit how many watts deploy the amp with 8 Ohm???
1/2 of 4 Ohm?
-
HiFiBerry team It's more complicated. However, the absolute outpurt power doesn't really matter. The maximum volume is mostly defined by the sensitivity of your speakers.
Just as a rule of thumb: To double the output volume, you need 10 times the output power. Just doubling the output power is barely notable. -
florit Okay double means 4Ohm 100Watt
Or 8Ohm 50Watt
Or 2Ohm 200Watt??? Do not know why volume
Double the input power from 24V 7,5A to 48V 15A not possibleOhm means “Wiederstände” as like the hold trough
Sorry for that question but on the hold trough depends Watt output
And the Watt output depends on power input ….Did I think wrong?

HiFiBerry team What exactly do you want to do with these numbers?
-
florit 4 Ohm 100 Watt is the regular way
The question was
Are 8 Ohm 50 Watt within a 24V 7,5A power supply?
-
HiFiBerry team Let me ask you again: What do you do with these numbers? If you're trying to find a matching speaker, the output power won't really help you.
-
florit sure but these amp dosen`t shoot the speakers on the right dimension else you will shoot it and yes it WILL help me...
it prevent from clipping

HiFiBerry team With practically any speaker you will hear when the speaker goes into clipping. It will start distorting which is a sign that you reach the limit of the speaker.
The best recommendation to select the right speakers for you is to listen to the speakers, ideally in your own room (I know that this is often not possible). Speakers will make the biggest difference in sound of your whole equipment.
Forget about power ratings of speakers. They will only tell you what's the maximum power a speaker can accept without being damaged. It doesn't tell you what amplifier it should be connected to. You can run a 100W speaker on a 3W amplifier and vice versa (in this case you can't run it on full volume).
Therefore: Go and listen to the speakers that you like. In a "normal" living environment the limit usually isn't the amplifier or the speaker, but what your neighbors can accept ;-) A closer look into this is needed if you wnat to listen in a very large room and/or very loud. But even then, it's not about power rating, but the combination of power rating and sensitivity that will define the maximum volume. -
florit 180 W power supply a 24V 7,5A means 56,8 Watt speaker output
and that means speakers with 65Watt RMS are enough
sorry for my questions I forget the calculation way
