How to use speaker corrections with AMP2

I'm trying to use the speaker corrections for http://noaudiophile.com/DSP_Corrections/Polk_OWM3.php which I have successfully used (via https://github.com/bmc0/dsp/wiki/System-Wide-DSP-Guide) on my own RPi4 with amp running stock Raspbian with my current Snapcast setup. 

I'm experimenting with HiFiBerryOS on another RPi4 with Amp2 (hifiberry-dacplus) and wanting to use the same corrections for the same speakers, however I see under Settings -> Sound -> DSP it won't allow any kind of corrections upload. Do I need to manually install the Alsa/Pulse LADSPA plugin in order to use the speaker corrections?

  DSP filters are only available for a sound cards equipped with a DSP, e.g. the Amp100 + DSP add-on or the Beocreate 4-channel amplifier.

  So EQ curves are not supported? Why not? If I manually install LADSPA to enable the speaker curves, what happens with the auto-update. Will it work fine, or will the first update nuke LADSPA?

  No, you can't. In our opinion, PulseAudio is a bad choice for high quality music playback as it resamples (not very well). We will probably NEVER integrate PulseAudio into HiFIBerryOS. If you want to experiment with this, Raspberry Pi OS is the better choice for you.

  If you looked a bit further at what I posted and the links, it works fine with alsa. In fact it's how I have it configured on my other Pi.

  I'm looking at HiFiBerryOS since there's less maintenance I end up needing to do, with auto-updates and additional UI integrations and features. Also I may put something together for a friend, and something like this is far superior for them to manage/use.

  Yes, but it's still not integrated and it won't be. HiFiBerryOS is a complex system and you can't simply replace an ALSA configuration without breaking other stuff. We offer our DSP sound cards and we don't plan to support any software-eq in HBOS. We already had too much hassle with this in the past. 
  All software that you install by yourself will be gone with the next update. 
  
  If you want the ease-of-use of HiFiBerryOS and equalisation, the Amp100+DSP or the Beocreate 4-channel amplifier is the way to go.
