Is it possible using DSPToolkit to import/convert filters (FIR, IIR) that have been created in software other than SigmaStudio?
I read somewhere that SigmaStudio can import FIR filters, but this is suboptimal for me for a number of reasons:
You can only program the DSP with SigmaStudio.
You can create a DSP program that contains both FIR and IIR filters. However, if you expect to just import some FIR filter coefficients from any external tools, that won't work well. You need to understand that the DSP is a fix-point DSP and therefore, the filter coefficients need to be designed to use the full range, otherwise this won't work well.
Don't try to create FIT filters without a good understanding about the theory behind it and experience in implementing it.

mean that when I do something like:
dsptoolkit apply-rew-filters filter.txt...I am not programming the DSP? If not, what does that action do?
With this tools, you're only pushing a DSP program that has been created by SigmaStudio before.

OK, I must have misunderstood something then. I thought this guide showed how filters created by REW could be used in the DSP, with no involvement of SigmaStudio.
You don't have to use SigmaStudio if you use one of the DSP programs provided by us, but they have been created by SigmaStudio.
