DAC/DSP combo or separate DIGI2 PRO + DSP Board

I'm looking for a solution to output MPD/Spotify through an optical output with DSP (using the microphone to adjust the room). I figured I can either take:

* The DAC/DSP combo (<link> (https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/boards/hifiberry-dac-dsp/) )
* A separate DIGI2 PRO (<link> (https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/boards/hifiberry-digi2-pro/) ) plus DSP (<link> (https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/boards/dsp-add-on/) )

Do you see any reason to prefer one solution over the other? Is it even possible to use the DAC/DSP solution purely on the optical out?

Of couse, with the first solution I get the DAC as well which is nice for future-proofing -- unless there is some downside compared to the second solution.

Also: Which case is recomended for the combo? It seems none will fit out-of-the box but I might be wrong there..
