I'm planning to set up a new stereo system in my living room with a mixer to mix all inputs (no switch, as all devices has their own volume control), and send the final output signal to a pair of ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2.
- TV (RCA, Toslink)
- Roon (Built in w/ HiFiBerryOS)
- Alexa Echo Dot (Aux 3.5mm)
I looked around and seems like the AMP100 w/ DSP add-on, or Beocreate 4 are the two best options, if I only have to bring in TV audio via toslink. However, trying to bring in Alexa Echo Dot elevate the complexity to another level that I have no clue how to deal with it. HiFiBerry OS wouldn't take USB input as far as I know, and I couldn't find a 2-channel mixer that has a toslink output for AMP100/Beocreate. Having all devices separated seems to break the beauty of integration, and I don't have such a space left under my cabinet.
I'm wondering if it would be better just dropping Alexa Echo Dot as its sound quality doesn't worth the hassle. In this case, would there be any "gochas" I need to be aware of with this scenario? (E.g. need a customized DSP profile)
