As we have seen some problems with the current detection of the Beocreate and the DAC+ DSP in HiFiBerryOS, we've added a bit more logic to hopefully make this more robust.
If you're having problems and HiFIBerryOS doesn't correctly detect your DAC+ DSP or Beocreate, try upgrading to the experimental release:
/opt/hifiberry/bin/update --experimental

I made a complete new install for testing.
On SD-Card <- 20210804
After boot direct
# /opt/hifiberry/bin/update --experimental
# reboot
Beocreate is shown in diagnostic but only 2 channels and no toslink, after:
# cd /opt/beocreate/beo-dsp-programs
# dsptoolkit install-profile beocreate-universal-10.xml
# reboot
Only this profile is shown (good)
All channels and dsp-functions are present but no toslink, after:
# nano /etc/hifiberry/config.fixed with only:
CARD="Beocreate 4-Channel Amplifier"
FEATURES="toslink localui"
# reboot
All works fine.
During my setups before I found several entries . No profile or 10 or 11 and 12 in combination with Beocreate or DAC + DSP.
It seems that the auto-dedection for Beocreate is a little bit problematic.
But great product!

I also have problems with beocreate v2.1 with HiFiBerryOS v20220826
I get sound only if i set the "Selfboot" jumper. I created https://github.com/hifiberry/hifiberry-dsp/issues/48 with more information for this...
