Amp2, trying to run either Volumio or MoOde Audio on a Raspberry Pi 4 8GB device to use as a B source to my speaker selection device to one set of speakers (outdoors on the deck). Very light sound to no sound with volume set at "20" percent in the programs using Spotify Connect. Anything higher and the speakers cut out. I am using a 19V, 3.16 amp power supply. Speaker volume is at 100% in order to hear anything.
Any suggestions? Is this just not the use case for this device?

Norbert Hi Kevin,
Before I switched to HifiberryOS I used the Amp2 with MoodeAudio for 3 years and had no problems with the volume.
Which outside speaker do you use?
Is this a typical PA speaker with 100 technology?

Kevin Wyman They are Bose outdoor speakers, nothing special other than a long run from the basement to the outdoors with a couple of line splices here and there. My Yamaha receiver drives them just fine at double the Wattage as well as two other sets of speakers through the speaker selection switch.

HiFiBerry team Might be a problem with the volume control on your software. Did you test with HiFiBerryOS (https://www.hifiberry.com/os)?

Kevin Wyman I tried installing the HifiBerryOS on my Raspberry Pi 3B+ but I couldn't get it to run. This was the same unit that was successfully operating on Volumio and MoOde Audio before I physically moved it and connected different speakers. Next I tried installing HifiBerryOS on a Raspberry 4 unit that I have. It worked so I took the Amp2 off the RPi3B+ and installed it on the RPi4 and everything is humming along great. I did use the proper image to match the RPi version so it wasn't that issue. So now when I get a new power cord I will test the RPi3B+ to see if it still works or was damaged through the various operating system changes that I tried on it. It still lights up red power light and there was an initial green on the board and on the Ethernet but it never fully booted.
The RPi4 was doing desktop duties so I will have to replace it at some point but for now I have music on my deck. Now if only Spotify would allow one to stream to multiple speakers of different manufacturers. I can send the signal to all the Sonos speakers or to all the Amazon Echo devices or to this Hifiberry Amp but I can't send it to all three groups at once. I believe that is feature.
