How do I enable bluetooth on HifiberryOS?
There is no BT support on the 3B, as this doesn't work reliable. You need at least a 3B+ or 4B

No BT support in Hifiberry or none in general?
After spending hours trying to determine a workaround on HifiberryOS, and the fact it's locked down and missing the typical tools you'd expect in a Linux environment, I researched alternatives.
Works fine on Volumio and piCorePlayer out of the box.
At this point I feel there should be a disclaimer regarding HifiBerryOS, it's clearly in Alpha stage and not ready for shelf.
This is not alpha at all, this is how it is designed. There never will be BT support on the Pi3 from us. Just doesn't make sense for us. We don't enable features that don't work reliably and the Pi3's initial Bluetooth implementation is not good enough in our opinion. Feel free to use another software that works better for you, that's perfectly fine. That's the good thing about open source - you can use and/or change the software you like.
BTW: It's not "locked down", the full source is available on Github.
Why do you exclude apt?
So, essentially you're saying Hifiberry is limited to developers and basic functionality like bluetooth that works out of the box with competing images will not be considered. If you want to try to use it, feel free, but by the way, we don't include basic linux package manages like apt, so good luck.
I've purchased 8 Dac+'s and now that Alexa has made the product completely obsolute, I was hoping your OS would provide an opportunity to repurpose the DAC's.
You should find a better Product Manager given your competitors were able to figure this out.
Feel free to use any "competitors" software. We don't see any other distribution as a competitors, but complementary and we're happy they exist. The more choice the user have the better. It wouldn't make sense to re-invent something that's already there and done well.
Our focus is ease-of-use and robustness, not having the biggest list of features and configuration options - something that we think other distributions are missing. If you don't think so or if you feel that another software works better for you - just use it. Nobody says that HiFiBerryOS is for everyone and we're perfectly happy with HiFiBerry users using the distribution of their choice. HiFiBerryOS is just one more choice you have.
