I an using HiFIB OS, to access my NAS with a dlna server ( works OK) and play music on my HiFI via phono. My issue is I cannot see a way to create playlists using the web interface from my mobile. Can you point me in the right direction please.

There is nothing like this today. While it definitely is an interesting feature, I can't say when we might be able to implement this. Today our development resources on this part of the code are a bit limited, but I hope this will improve after the summer.
I'm using M3U Dropper application to create playlist files for my mobile player... long story short: the output is a text file that I upload to the device.
Maybe the minimum viable product would be a guide how to prepare a playlist file that HiFiBerry would be able to interpret and upload it to become available as a playlist for selection in UI?
There is no support for playlists in the UI today.
I've read that in your comment form July 2021. But there is a placeholder that I experienced and that's why I came up with an idea of MVP that seems to require not much of development, especially on UI side as I see you've not found resources for implementing that for over a year.
Maybe you can figure out something cheap to implement that would introduce playlists...
I'm sorry, but there are lots of other things that definitely have a higher priority than this. Don't expect this to happen soon.
