HiFiBerry team I guess, you're using HiFiBerryOS. What sound card is shown? What version are you using? What DSP profile is installed?
-
Yeah sorry, it's a Beocreate. DSP is universal one. Reinstalled with no success.
-
HiFiBerry team Is "Beocreate" shown as the sound card in the UI?
-
HiFiBerry team Also tell us what version you're using.
-
I'm not sure where to look for the sound card name. Software version is may 2021, and there are no updates to install. Thanks
-
Card name is Beocreate

HiFiBerry team Try resetting the configuration. Login via ssh and run the following command
rm /etc/hifiberry.state
/opt/hifiberry/bin/reconfigure-players -
Thank you very much, I'll try asap
-
cannot find /etc/hifiberry.state
cannot find /opt_hifiberry/bin/reconfigure-players. bin folder contains:
-
HiFiBerry team That explains it. Looks like your installation is broken (could be a corrupted SD card). Try a fresh installation on a new SD card.
-
Alejandro Michetti ๐ฆ๐ท๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น๐ช๐บ ooooook! will try asap. Thank you very much
-
I'm back. I changed Rpi (now it's a brand new Rpi400) I dowmoaded adn reinstalled again HifiBerry OS. But the optical port is still missing:
I think the Beocreate card is broken. Should I try using DSP software to debug the port? Is there an easy way to do this? Thank you as always
-
HiFiBerry team That has nothing to do with "broken Beocreate". The Beocreate was never designed to work with a Pi400. How did you even connect this as you can't plug the Beocreate onto this.
-
Alejandro Michetti ๐ฆ๐ท๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น๐ช๐บ of course, I wrote it wrong. it's a brand new RPI4B. Sorry.
-
HiFiBerry team Ok, but you DID do a fresh installation on a new SD card - right? In this case, do the steps above againย
rm /etc/hifiberry.state
/opt/hifiberry/bin/reconfigure-players -
Alejandro Michetti ๐ฆ๐ท๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น๐ช๐บ ok, thank you for the prompt answer. I'll do this.

Hi, here I go again. This time commands ran smoothly. no errors.
Beocreate rebooted after reconfigure-players execution.
But things remain the same:
-
HiFiBerry team What's the output ofย
cat /etc/hifiberry.state -
HiFiBerry team And BTW: On a fresh installation you might need to re-install the DSP profile and reboot
-
reinstalled DSP profile, no changes.this is hifiberry.state:

HiFiBerry team Ok, looks like you found a software bug :(
Can you try the latest experimental release? I think, I've seen something like this before.
/opt/hifiberry/bin/update --experimental -
Ran the update, now version is 20210614.
Nothing new, optical input doesn't show
Tried removing state file and running reconfigure.players
nothing
Tried reinstalling DSP program
nothing
I'm sorry... this is hifiberry.state:
-
HiFiBerry team This is definitely a bug in HiFiBerryOS. I'll see that we can fix this.ย
-
HiFiBerry team This is really strange as looking in the code I can't see why this should not work. Can you post the full output of these commands:
rm /etc/hifiberry.state
/opt/hifiberry/bin/reconfigure-players -
Ok, I will post it this evening. thank you for your support

HiFiBerry team Ok. While I still don't understand where this bug comes from in the release you're using, we have 2 option to move forward:
1. Try the latest experimental release that has just been published today
/opt/hifiberry/bin/update --experimental
2. As a workaround, you can enable it as follows:
touch /etc/hifiberry/toslink.feature
/opt/hifiberry/bin/reconfigure-players -
the update has been completed, new version is 20210723. Things didn't change after this.
Then, i follow point 2. instructions. Now optical input works.
Thank you for the solution. If I can be of any help doing further tests, feel free to contact me.

Ubernoob Thanks, step 2 worked for me as well.
The previous update removed it from my list.

Hi, I don't know if this could be related to former issue, I don't have any audio output on channels C - D. However I see them on channels page. Cannot find related info on this community.
Thank you!ย
