Hi, I am considering purchase of a Digi2 Pro for use with a RPi 4. Would I be safe use the standard "HiFiBerry steel case" without any overheating issues or will I need to add a cooling fan? Regards

roger lawcock Thanks for the quick reply and the interesting article. I am now running the Digi2 Pro/RPi4 as an audio only player with S/PDIF output to a separate DAC, I can confirm that overheating is a not a problem so far, Regards

vaughan Roger - what OS are you running please? I'm looking to do the same Digi2 Pro/RPI4 into external DAC through Roon. I've same setup with HiberryOS with Roon playing to Digi2, but can't get any sound out of the S/PDIF into the DAC. Swapping to RoPIEEE doesn't help, not supporting the Digi2.

roger lawcock I have never tried Roon so difficult to advise.
I use JRiver. I solved no-sound issues like your description by changing the audio device selection for the HB Digi card, there may be more than one S/PDIF option. Only one might work.
