I'd like to know if the DIGI+ I/O could send directly the received SPDIF signal to the SPDIF output, or maybe just be able somehow to choose SPDIF out to be either what's coming from the raspberry, OR what's coming in at the SPDIF input. Would it be possible?

You can choose the data source between SPDIF in and the Pi using alsamixer.
Is it planed to be a selectabel source in the webinterface (the ui?)

There are no plans for an integration in HiFiBerryOS. We think, the DAC+ DSO is the better choice for this.
