DAC+ ADC always in state "Running" (PulseAudio)

Hi, I set up the DAC+ ADC to stream music from my turntable to my multi-room audio setup via a Snapcast server.
Everything works perfect, except I cannot setup a meta stream (https://github.com/badaix/snapcast/blob/master/doc/configuration.md#meta) that would allow for streaming music from my Mopidy server until I put on a record, since the audio stream from the ADC is always in "playing" state, even if there is no music coming in.
I believe this is due to the sound card source showing as "RUNNING" all the time in pactl.

Is this expected behavior and/or is there a way to make the sound card go into idle state if there is no input?

  There is no "idle when there is no input". The Pi doesn't know if there is any input or not, it just reads data from the ADC.
