close-cut The problem is also known in combination with other software. See first comment from Phil323UK here for example: http://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=1735&page=2
Downgrading to an PI 3 would be a possible solution.
I hope there will be a hifiberryos software fix for the digi+ pro in combination with the pi4 in the near future. I like the minimalistic hifiberryos software more then the others.

HiFiBerry team There is no known problem like this. I also don't really understand the issue: According to your statement there's a problem after cold start, but when powering off, you say it's working. What exactly do you mean by "cold start"?
BTW: I won't comment on hardware support on Moode. -
close-cut Thank you for your prompt reply. Got to do this procedure (shutdown, pull the power lead and turn back on) every time the pi is powered off / without electricity for a long time (6h, 12h or 24h).
I am currently testing the setup with the original pi4 power supply (5.1V, 3A) instead of the iFi Audio iPower (5V, 2.5A). But i don't think that's the problem.

HiFiBerry team The power supply could definitely be a problem if it ramps up the supply voltage too slow.

close-cut The iFi Audio iPower (5V, 2.5A) was the problem. Either it doesn't work properly or it ramps up the supply voltage too slow like you said. With the original pi4 power supply (5.1V, 3A) everything works fine.
after shutdown, power disconnection and re powering the module is recognized without any problems.
HiFiBerryOS version: 20210203
Pi model: 4
As comparison: i also tested the dac2 hd on this pi without any probems/errors.
Is this an hardware eprom bug in the hifiberry Digi+ Pro module or is it a software bug? How can i modify the HiFiBerryOS system to force the digi+ pro driver in the config.txt? Is there a way for me to re-flash the eprom of the module if something is wrong with it ... or is the eprom defective and must be returned ?
