Hello,
I received the Beocreate today and I am truly impressed!
My first question regarding the device:
Is there a way to have a regular pre-out via the GPIO pins or else?
I am trying to visualise the Signal that is send to the raspberry.
I could use the second speaker out but this has too much output for my use.
Possible at all ?
Thank you!

HiFiBerry team No, there is no pre-out via GPIO. How exactly are you trying to visualise the signal?

Berry White Well I have a beautiful old VU Meter that I would like to include in the DAC Amp housing.
It cannot deal with the Speaker out signal / voltage.
I was thinking if there is a way to route the signal directly to to one of the speaker outs via the dsp but I guess that this is not possible because of the hardwiring of the amp-components?
Thanks -
HiFiBerry team Something like this would do the job to convert from speaker level top line level:

https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/344651/attenuate-75w-speaker-to-line-in
Note that you will need a solution with an output transformer as none of the outputs on the amplifiers are connected directly to ground while most inputs are. -
Berry White I was thinking that maybe I could split the input on the software side and send it to a small usb dac 3.5 adpater that I have lying around.
That should be possible with the ALSA mixer, no? -
HiFiBerry team Definitely not a simple thing to do. This would require stuff like Pulseaudio or similar.

Berry White I was hoping that Alsa has this ability?

HiFiBerry team Feel free to try. In general, we're not fans of dmix as the simple sample rate conversion isn't great from an audio quality point of view.
BTW: I would not recommend to try this with HiFiBerryOS as this would probably break a lot of things! -
Berry White I guessed so ... however having a headphone option in the DAC would be a nice thing as well
