HiFiBerryOS interactions

Dear HiFiBerry community -

I'm enjoying HiFiBerryOS but it needs one small thing to be perfect: a simple way to control the GPIO pins as an action in interactions. As it is the system is offering serial messaging but this is more sophisticated than I need or can use.

For example, I want to turn on an amplifier controlled from a relay attached to the GPIO header.

node.js is installed but I think the modules onoff and socket.io are not. I don't wish to modify the installation at all, so that I will not have to worry about future updates resetting my changes.

Any ideas or workarounds?

If you want to contribute interaction code that we integrate into the main release, we'll make sure that the required modules are also available. For the development you can just install these by yourself.
We're working on some code changes and documentation to enable users to create their own interactions.
