Use raspberry pi with passive speaker for video projector

Hi,

 

I would like to use the external audio of my video projector with my passive speaker.

Passive speaker are used with an amp2 and raspberry pi 3B+.

My video projector has an audio output.

 

My question is simple: How to stream the audio to the raspberry as there is no audio input in the raspberry pi 3B+/Amp2 ?

Do I have to switch my amp2 to a DAC+Pro and a HiFiBerry AAmp60 ?

So the audio will come from video projector to the DAC and the output audio will go to the AAmp60 and so the passive speakers ?

  For an analogue input, you would need the DAC+ ADC and the Aamp60. You can check if your projector can send the sound via Bliuetooth. However, it's usually a problem to keep audio and video in sync with BT.

  Ok thanks. I prefer to avoid the bluetooth because of the problem you mentionned.

  Last question: I have a Volumio OS installed, is there something to modify in the configuration of the RP3B+ hosting the system to take the analog audio input and send it to the Aamp60 ? Or is it done by default when a signal is detected from the analog input audio ?

  I think with Volumio you need the paid full version to allow to use an analogue input. Alternatively you might have a look at HiFiBerryOS (https://www.hifiberry.com/os)

  This is exactly what I was doing ! Your answer wass to fast to let me to read more about it, so I ask you my question here :)

  I am using only one feature in Volumio: Spotify connect so I can stream directly from my Android phone to my speaker and from Airplay.

  If hifiberry can do this and support the analog input, So I'll go for it. Does it ?

  I will give it a try anyway

  HiFiBerryOS supports a lot of sources including input of the DAC+ ADC and Spotify. Have a look at the web page to get more information.

  Just installed it and give it a try with spotify and radio, works perfeclty.

  Will try so with my video projector / Aamp60 / DAC + ADC
