Would it be possible to add the DSP Addon board to the HiFi Berry DAC+ XLR edition sound card?
If so, are there any instructions on how to install it.
Thanks

The current version of this boards doesn't support the DSP add-on. There will be probably a new version with DSP add-on support, but we don't expect this in the next few months.
Oh, I see what you mean. I am okay with these minor differences. Mainly I am hoping that these XLR connectors are more "corrosion-proof". I have seen an old RCA connector get rusty relatively quickly. I suppose it is environment-dependent. I am not necessarily looking for maximum fanciness but rather maximum durability (with a decent quality of course). Although I was hoping that adding a DSP would be a nice bonus.
I found the original HiFi berry metal case for the RPI 3b+ on some third-party website. It is an end-of-life product, but I got lucky and found one of the few last ones.
Are you using a true XLR to XLR connection or are you using some kind of converter along the way? XLR to RCA or XLR to 3.5mm jack. Just wondering.
The amplifier I am using only accepts XLR so I don't really have much of an option anyway.
Anyway thanks for the replies.1
In the meantime, the DAC2 HD does support the DSP add-on board and has a lower noise floor than the DAC+ Pro XLR. It's a bit more expensive, but depending on your application, the higher performance may be worth the difference in price.
Yeah thanks, but no. I am not trying to purchase every single product in the HiFiberry catalog. It's okay. I am working on building a robust jukebox based on RPI 3b+ [Fruitbox jukebox software] and I am using a 1000 watt amp, and the XLR version of HiFi berry. I need to use heavy duty stuff otherwise it wont last more than a few months for my application. These 200 dollar 10 watt amps are cute but they just dont do much. And unfortunately, buying a 100 dollar soundcard just for a "RCA output" is just not really that good a deal. Long story short. Im pretty much set on XLR, that is what works with my current set up, what I need, and the only "heavy-duty connection" that I can think of at the moment for my desire application.
Yes. I understand. I'm using the DAC+ Pro XLR to drive a pair of JBL 305P active monitors. Love it and the excellent metal case, even though it did not measure quite as well as the RCA version.

I'm using XLR to XLR cables. As far as I know, the JBL inputs are fully balanced. I did notice a few dB more output after upgrading from the RCA DAC+ Pro to the XLR
