I'm using a digi+ pro as my output from a Raspberry pi 4 for volumio using the software mixer.
Does anyone know the mapping of dB attenuation to the 0-100 volume output level? Mostly listening at 50-60 and want to know how much digital attenuation is being applied as I might add a line level attenuator to maximize dynamic range.

That depends on the configuration of the software volume control. I'm not sure if Volumio uses a fixed range. You might check /etc/asound.conf
The only Volume i options in Volumio that I see are:
Mixer type: Software
Default startup Volume
Max Volume Level
One Click Volume Steps
MPD Clients Volume control: I don't know what this is
In hardware mixer type it offers different volume mappings but I see no such option with volume mixer.

Unfortunately I don't know the internals of Volumio and the volume control. You might check /etc/asound.conf. You might find the volume control range there.
In HiFiBerryOS we use 90db control range. 50% would mean 45db in this case. However, the Volumio configuration might be different.
