Hi, I have a HifiberryDigi + RPI 4 and an old receiver with surround via SPDIF but not HDMI. I am wondering if it is somehow possible to feed a 5.1 PCM signal through some manner of encoding lika dcaenc. I am using Kodi and Steam link on my pi.
On my PC I am running Linux and on my Pi I am running Raspbian Lite. A game that supports 5.1 PCM is run and the intention is (hopefully) in some way to run this surround, or is it only possible to buy a new receiver when you have Digi+? Thanks.
