Can I operate the Logitech Media Server on a separate Pi 4 and send it to the HIFIBERRY DAC+ DSP over 2 Lan connections with my router, and then control what's playing with the Squeeze Ctrl app.

HiFiBerry team Yes, that's possible.

Godfrey Ryan OK, I've just received my new Raspberry Pi 4 Model B - 8GBs. I've installed the Logitech Media Server on it, and both it and the HIFIBERRY DAC+ DSP are connected to my router over 2 Lan connections. When I open the Squeeze Ctrl app on my smart-phone, It reports "No Player Connected". Both the new Pi and the HIFiBerry seem to be exchanging packets with my router. Some help in getting LMS to use the HIFIBERRY DAC+ DSP would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

HiFiBerry team My guess is that your question is about HiFiBerryOS - is this correct? If yes, did you enable squezzelite? Did you configure the IP address of your LMS?

Godfrey Ryan I'm shooting in the dark here with this, but in the last couple of minutes they both seem to have self-configured. I Have not enabled Squeezelite, but I can now play hundreds of online radio stations with the Squeeze Ctrl app. The system seems to be holding solid, with my desktop computer switched off. This is what I was aiming for. I'll see how it is progressing, and report back. Thanks.

Godfrey Ryan Everything is working fine today. It seems that after initially connecting them to the router, it takes some time for the two systems to recognize each other, and several reboots of all 3 are necessary. Having said that, it's almost as simple as "Plug and Play" to get this set-up running - wonderful.
