Hi there,
I have two WiFi networks with unique SSIDs (one 2.4 and another 5.0Ghz)
The 5.0Ghz network is not detected by HifiBerry OS, only the 2.4Ghz...
Is there a way to enable this on the Pi 3B+?
Thanks,
Mark

Forgot to mention I have the WLAN region set to Australia and have tried changing this to different regions but am still unable to see the 5Ghz network.
It will simply connect to the first network that it finds. If it can access the 2.4GHz network, it will stop here. There is no need to probe other frequencies as the network is already connected.
If you want to change this, you would have to create your own freq_list:
I have tried reinstalling HifiBerry OS after disabling my 2.4Ghz network. When i do this the pi still doesn't find the 5Ghz network. I've tried setting the freq_list for my region (AU) but not having any luck. There seems to be options to make AC wifi the default in the hostapd.conf file but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Wondering if this issue is specific to the pi3B+?
Thanks for your help anyway
Mark
hostapf.conf isn't used at all for this.
What does
iwlist wlan0 freq
list?
Are you sure this is a 3B+, not a 3B? What's the output of
cat /etc/hifiberry.state
Oh yikes! its only a 3B! I must be going insane...
Thanks for your help anyway.
Now I have to charge you for this ;-)
BTW: What version is this? It looks like it still has the "analoginput" bug for the Digi+.
Do you mean the hifiberry os version?
Yes. You can run
cat /etc/hifiberry.version
20200527
Ok, this is still an older version that detects an analog input on the Digi. It's not really a big problem, but you might think about updating.
is this the newer one? Also, if i get my hands on a 3B+ will that mean i can use bluetooth also?
You can just upgrade directly from the UI, or from command line.
No need to download a new release from the web site.
Yes, on the 3B+ you can also use BT
Thank you for your help and patience...
i get this message when trying to update via command
You have only security updates enabled. You can update to the latest stable release with
/opt/hifiberry/bin/update --stable
or to the latest
/opt/hifiberry/bin/update --latest
Thanks again - I'll try to get my hands on a newer pi
