I recently installed RPi OS and followed the guide to make AMP2 the only sound device. aplay shows the device correctly, but whenever I play audio there's no sound from my speakers. Incidentally though, I can hear the faintest sound of the music coming directly from the board. Similar to if you put your ear up to a vinyl record and can barely hear the actual sound being created before amplifed. Any ideas? I'm very new to RPi, but I followed the short setup guide word for word. Thanks

BigGoose62 More Info: I wiped the SD card and reinstalled Raspbian/RPi OS. Still having the exact same problem. I redid everything step by step and still have the same issue of no sound coming out of my speakers. But I can hear the audio coming directly from the RPi or AMP2 board. It's very strange.
When using dmesg, a notable line is: snd-rpi-hifiberry-dacplus soc:sound: ASoC: CODEC DAI pcm512x-hifi not registered - will retry. Maybe this has something to do with it? I've tried googling a lot of this, but I'm not finding anything helpful

HiFiBerry team What power supply do you use?
-
BigGoose62 Thanks for your reply. It's an HP power supply from an old laptop. HP Part NO. 608425-003 65W 18.5 V 3.5 A. Is this a common problem with the power supply? Everything seems to power appropriately otherwise.
-
HiFiBerry team A common problem is that people only use a 5V power supply for the Pi.
What speakers did you connect? -
BigGoose62 The power supply is connected to the Amp2, nothing connected to Pi per instructions. Speakers are Dual LU43PB.
-
HiFiBerry team Can you post a picture of your cabling?

BigGoose62 Sorry for the delayed reply, I had been busy and unable to devote time to this project. I was able to finally fix the issue. I basically had to put a "#" in front of some of the default modules and sound now works. Thanks for the help
