Beocreate mysterious analogue inputs in example profile

hi.

im just wondering where these AUX-inputs came from? i found this in one of the example profiles named 4way-iir-delay-mixer.

there are the normal inputs from the Pi and SPDIF but also Inputs 16+17 and 40+41

so how is this possible? are they using the add-on board for analogue inputs/outputs? im really interested in how they do this.

i can not understand why such great products were not documented and supported well. almost nobody know what is even possible with these boards and for adding a little thing like external volume control you waste hours of searching the internet.

  These are additional inputs on the DSP. They require an add-on board. The DAC/ADC add-on for the DAC+ DSP provides one additional analogue input. There is no such board available for the Beocreate 4CA.
  
  I think we support these products quite well, you will notice that there are regularly new features and bug fixes on the DSP toolkit software. 
  However, you should not expect us to document every internal of the DSP. That's not our goal with this product. We understand that some people want to do more than just the stuff we provide in our DSP profiles. You can do a lot, but features like adding external volume control are advanced use cases that we won't document. Whoever wants to do things like this should really understand how the DSP works and read the documentation of the DSP and SigmaStudio. Without this it's just not possible to do things like this.

  While you do seem to provide good support for the product (including here on this support board), you could be more proactive about pointing out these facts up front.

  For example, your datasheet doesn't even mention Analog Devices or SigmaStudio - you don't even state which DSP chip model is on the board. I gather from reading numerous forum posts maybe ADAU1452 or ADAU1451, but I'm not actually sure?

  Also, I gather from forum activity and YouTube videos, one of the popular use-cases is speaker design - for which features like an external volume control hardly constitutes an "advanced use case"? It actually seems like the perfect use case for a "getting started" document - which just seems like a missed opportunity to point people in the direction of the documentation and software that's going to make them successful and productive with your product.
