I second this request! It would be great!
BN
We'll look into this, but it isn't decided yet.
Best regards,
Daniel
BTW: One option to do this now might be Logitech Media Server:

It would be great! I also support this request.
Best regards
As far as I heard, Quobuz can stream via DLNA. This has been integrated into the latest HiFiBerryOS release. As we don't have a Quobuz test account here, I don't know if this is working. Maybe somebody can try.
I have probably missed something here, but is HifiberryOS a DLNA controlpoint or a DLNA renderer?
If it is a control point, I assume the Qobuz user name and password, as well as streaming/browsing should be handled by HibiBerryOS/Raspberry?
You need to explain in more detail what you mean by DLNA integration in the Qobuz context.
BN
HiFiBerryOS acts as a DLNA renderer. As I said, at this point we don't have any technical information on how Qobuz DLNA integration works. If it can stream to a DLNA renderer, just try.
Just tried it on my HifiBerryDigi+Pro.
Technically it should work, it is visible as a DLNA device, my control point does not complain.
On the HifiberryOS webpage the correct track is shown at the bottom, and the cover thumbnail picture is correct.
Except that it does not play, and there is no light in my toslink cable.
Is HifiBerryDigi supported?
BN
I can add that I am using the BubbleUpNP for Android to connect to Qobuz. There I can select which device to render to, in this case the HiFiBerry. Which is nice, if it works. I also have a HifiBerryDAC, which I will now try with the same SD, I will report the result soon.
I had expected "Qobuz support" in HifiBerryOS to work the same way as Spotify, an user login and an album browser?
BN
There is no album browser for Spotify. All that HiFiBerryOS received is the audio data. Control and UI is done in the Spotify app that runs on your PC or smartphone.
Maybe there will be some UI for this at some point, but this probably won't happen soon.
Ok, Qobuz is covered by DLNA then, which is fine.
(Except that the native Qobuz app does not know DLNA, but that is a fight we have to take with them! :) )
My HifiberryDAC worked fine with Qobuz and BubbleUPnP Android, thank you.
How about the Digi? Should it work under HifiBerryOS?
It would have been nice with a small log in HifiberryOS describing the detected hardware and occasional problems, if any.
BN
Yes, the Digi+ works exactly as the DAC+. However, yesterdays release had some issues that might have impacted the Digi+. A bugfix release should be online soon.
Just downloaded today's update (20200328), and oops! DLNA was no longer there.
BN
I had both the Digi and the DAC running, so it was a name conflict. Changing the names made DLNA come back.
But, still no light on the toslink port. But this is now becoming off-topic in the Qobuz support thread, so I stop here.
BN
I did try Qobuz on my DAC+ DSP, i can see light coming from toslink and HiFIberryOs correctly shows the track playing but there's no audio at all.
How on earth do you people get this working without any external servers running? Qobuz iOS and MacOS apps only show local devices, Airplay and Chromecast. I could airplay to the Hifiberry of course, but that will not give full access to HD tracks.
I've tried working with Linn Kazoo, in which you can sometimes find the Hifiberry, and when it works, it's kind of okay (except for no gapless playback), more times than not, Kazoo cannot find the hifiberry and that makes it kind of unusable. This could probably be fixed in future releases though.
Kazoo via BubbleUPNP works, but needs an extra server. I can install it on the Hifiberry, and that works a bit better than the above solution, but it requires some extra steps and on every update the server will be gone again, so needs a reinstall, or a custom build image.
Going to try mconnect now.. hopefully it's better
The Qobuz app itself has 'beta' support for DLNA.
But while I can output to HiFiBerryOS and see the track name and cover art change in the HFB interface no sound is output.
It's not really an issue for me as I use Roon and not I'm even sure if this is a Qobuz or HFB issue as DLNA works from other DLNA control apps. Which sort of points the finger at Qobuz. But just thought I'd mention it it case someone else wants to do some debugging and provide it to Qobuz.
It was a long time since I saw any output device selector on the Qobuz app, it seems to be coming and going. It has never worked for me.
I do not recognise your screenshot at all, is it Qobuz for Windows? Qobuz for Mac nor for Android has this beta setting. Or they managed it to hide it well.
BN
The latest Qobuz for Mac OSX, in the user settings (click your avatar, top right) under the "Music Playing" tab.
Got it, thanks.
It is the same as it used to be, not working.
BN
Does playing Qobuz through the Qobuz iOS app then through airplay to the HiFiberry preserve the fidelity of the HD audio available from Qobuz?
Ii have been using the Roon interface to the HiFiBerry and integrated Qobuz into Roon. The music provided by Qobuz is integrated by Roon into my Roon library. Of course this requires a subscription to both Roon and Qobuz. Integrating Qobuz directly to the HiFiBerry would be great, if I understand correctly how this works.
