Amp2 in a car?

I'm looking at an Amp2 as possibly the perfect combination of power supply, DAC, and power amp for using my Raspberry Pi as a replacement for my now-dead ancient stereo in my truck.

My inclination is to wire it so it is always-on with the ignition, but I don't want to hurt anything, nor do I want loud pops in the speakers.

How well does the Amp2 (and the correspondingly-powered RPi) respond to situations involving a sudden loss of power?  Should I expect pops in the speakers on power up/power down?
