No volume control with amp2

Hi all,

I am installing a Raspberry 3B+ with amp2, the os is Raspbian Full

With the line “dtoverlag=hifiberry-dacplus” in /boot/config.txt file

But now I can’t use the volume control, it works alone 0% or 100% nothing in between

Aplay -l:

Hi,

this volume controls don't look right. I guess, these are from the onboard sound. It seems that you did not disable onboard sound. You should disable this.

Or do you have any USB device plugged in?

I don't have any USB devices in it

We use the Raspberry and the Hihiberry for events and we install, and we've already done a lot. we are very satisfied with the result!

It looks like it has to do with a new Raspbian ox. (Python3 IDLE was also gone)

To disable onboard sound we use:
# dtparam = audio = on

in the /boot/config.txt

other SD card, Raspberry and Hifiberry won't work. the AMP + also gives the same result

Hi,

the volume controls are definitely not from the Amp2. It might also be PulseAudio that messes up things.

Try

sudo amixer

Hi Daniel,

I have installed an older version of Raspbian:

https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian_full/images/raspbian_full-2019-06-24/

and the AMP2 works immediately

only the setting

# dtparam = audio = on

dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus


created in the /boot/config.txt
