I have an old PiB (not plus) rev2 laying around. Also have an old b/w TV, so wanted to build a player with graphics. Found out that you can't connect the 40 pin of the DAC+ to the 26 pin of the Pi.
I was wondering if I could use the P5 port for this. Pin conversion would be something like this:
GPIO # - PIN - Func. - P5 # - PIN
GPIO18 - 12 - CLK - GPIO28 - 3
GPIO19 - 35 - FS - GPIO29 - 4
GPIO20 - 38 - DIN - GPIO30 - 5
GPIO21 - 40 - DOUT - GPIO31 - 6
Then use GPIO 2-3 (pin 3/5) to do configuration and P3 (5V+) to power everything.
Would that be enough? And can I still use the hifiberry-dacplus dtoverlay in the config.txt then or should I revert to something different like hifiberry-dac or some kind of generic I2S DAC driver?
