These DSP are not preinstalled in the image file? Correct?
I did find them on Github
and installed the Github DSP in the Pi connected RL6000 - didn't expect this sound quality!
connected a second board to the other RL6000.
Changed the DSP of both boards (sides Li/Re and Direct/Slave). Uploaded the DSPs to the EEPROMs.
Played with the RX/TX settings of the SPDIF. But until now no sound from the Slave board. What am I missing?
Hi Paul and my apologies for late response,
The DSP files for S35 and RL6000 are indeed not preinstalled on the image – the files are downloaded from the cloud as the profiles are selected. This requires an update to the online setup tool, which we will push out very soon.
As you discovered, the files are available on Github, and they are identical to those that will be available though the setup tool.
Master-slave configurations with two boards are not yet supported by the setup tool, so you are likely working from SigmaStudio. That's good.
Let's look into the issue with the slave board. First off, here are the correct settings for both speakers:
Master Speaker
From Channel Select, choose the channel played by the master speaker.
From Direct/Slave Select, select Slave from the Direct/Slave switch, and choose the channel played by the slave speaker from the channel selection switch.
Slave Speaker
For slave speaker you don't need to make any changes to the settings – just upload the RL6000 program with default settings.
We have seen an issue with some boards where the EEPROM write doesn't actually "stick" unless you remove a jumper from the board labelled self-boot for the duration of writing the EEPROM. Can you try to write the DSP program again like this?
Let me know how it goes and we can troubleshoot this further.
Best,
Tuomas from Bang & Olufsen
Hi Tuomas,
I did misinterpreted the DSP schemes. I thought one has to be set for the slave the other for the master.
Actually I do get sound from both speakers now. But the sound on the slave is very distorted. Not the woman calling the IP address though, she sounded okay.
The check with the Pi installed on the slave board, gave no distortion at all on the connected speaker.
do you have any suggestions?
thanks
Paul
Hi Tuomas,
I got it working. Changing the master to Right speaker and the slave to Left speaker did the trick.
Note: Must the SpdifOut1 and SpdifOut2 on Main have to be changed also if the slave would be the right speaker?
What I notice for the moment, the music is just a little bit slower than should be. "Al Stewart - Year of the Cat" sings (even) more relaxed then he used to (beginning of the song is ideal for the separate right/left signal). I use Bluetooth. I know Airplay is preferable. But doesn't seem to work. Have to work out if this is an Apple thing (Airplay 2) or a Raspberri Pi thing.
regards
Paul
Hi Paul, Hi Tuomas
I recently acquired a pair of RL6000 speakers and I would like to set up them as stereo. (I did not yet order the beocreate but will do so as soon as I am sure that I have a roadmap to successfully achieve my needs).
I am discovering the full thing and was wondering if you could help me a bit and tell me if I do understand correctly. Following your discussion I do understand that
are those assumptions correct? if not, could you help me to put me in the right direction
Thanks in advance for your help
Best
Alexis
Hi Paul, Tuomas or Alexis,
Is there anybody who can help me a bit further with SigmaStudio?
I only need the RL6000 setting for stereo setup. The explanation above is just a little too simple, too short.
I don't know how to do these things :-(
Channel A, Channel B, Left, Right, Spdif1 spdif2 ?!?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

(everything solved, other post, thanks Tuomas)
Hi Rop,
finally I decided not to go through sigmastudio way. Advantage both speakers are physically independent
What I did: put a raspberry/beocreate in both speakers and use them as independent players. setup each player to render only one channel (using the web setup of beocreate) and use a music server like logitech media server (LMS) which can synchronise several players together.
LMS will send both right and left channel to each speaker in a synchronized way but only one channel will be rendered per speaker
Note : airplaybridge plugin from LMS can be used to discover airplay players
Hope this helps
Alexis
Thanks Alexis, got everything working without SigmaStudio, with only dsptoolkit. In the end it was a peace of cake (with (a lot of) help from Tuomas).
