Hello guys. I have a Raspberry Pi 3B setup with the HifibBerry Amp+. This used to work fine with Rasbian Jessie and Mopidy, until Mopidy broke and I decided to bump to Raspbian Buster.
Setup is identical (clean installation), but I am not getting any sound (be it a WAV file or ALSA test files I'm trying to play or Spotify streams). Onboard sound has been disabled in /boot/config.txt as per the HifiBerry instructions. The hifiberry-amp overlay has been selected through the dtoverlay= value in /boot/config.txt.
ALSA sees the device just fine (except that the subdevice was 1/1 at some point, but the RPi stayed silent either way so that does not seem to make any difference):
# aplay -l **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: sndrpihifiberry [snd_rpi_hifiberry_amp], device 0: HifiBerry AMP HiFi tas5713.1-001b-0 Subdevices: 0/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
Playing audio seems to work (except for there being no sound of course):
root@rpi1:/usr/share/sounds/alsa# aplay Front_Left.wav Playing WAVE 'Front_Left.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 48000 Hz, Mono
Using amixer to unmute the audio device does not make any difference either.
I tried blacklisting snd-bcm2835 but that affects the Amp+ as well; it completely disappears at that point.
Any pointers are appreciated.
