is there any option to get an external volume control like with an knob or with an IR remote or something like this??
ive got the problem that the beocreate boards now runs fine. i use it with fixxed programmed dsp settings and it's running so without the raspberry pi! but now the volume is always set to 90% from the programmed volume limiter, but im anable to reduce the volume now on my TV when i switch the sound output to "external speakers" insight the TV settings.
i know that i can reduce the volume with the raspberry and then the active coding for the DSP settings.
but the board shoud run fine without the raspberry!
with the RPI i got the problem that i got a power on burp on all speakers and a short tone pause during the boot of the RPI. that's why i want to use the board without the RPI.

in general you could connect a rotary encoder to the GPIO on the Beocreate board. However, this will require a custom DSP profile. While it should work in theory, we never tried this.

is there an option that later a dsp setting with a small guide will be created by the beocreate / hifiberry team ?
i think this could be helpfull for lots af us which will use this board for a daily driver in the home hifi enviroment.

as very few people use the board without the Raspberry Pi, there are currently no plans to create specific guides on DSP features without using the Raspberry Pi.

if the sound problems (the start burp) will be fixed i also would prefer to use the board tighether with the pi.
but until this bug isnt fixed there's from my opinion no option to use the board.

This has been fixed by the latest DSP profiles already last year. What DSP profile are you using in your installation?

i was using the newest one... with the old profiles i doent have any sound issue on my first tests....
i also was using the newest image provided by your team (beocreate-181228.img)
As the DSP profiles are managed by the B&O team, we need to know exactly, which speaker profile you are using as somebody from B6O has to look into this.

i dont use the xml file. as i understood i only need the xml file for the live deployment with the PI. so the xml file will be loaded and activated by the PI on the boot.
but with the option to burn the DSP settings directly to the beocreate board i thought that the xml file with the PI isnt reqired ???

Hi everybody,
I managed to get this working the other day, albeit in an experimental stage. I wanted to use a secondary analogue out using the beta version of the DACADC addon board. I'll write up a more detailed post about this when it's all done but this is basically what I did:
* Soldered a 2x3 header onto the P4 header
* Connected a 10kOhm potentiometer to pin 1 (ground), pin 2 (3V) and pin 3 (Aux ADC 0)
* Started out with the 4way-mixed.dspproj profile in SigmaStudio
* Added an "Auxilary ADC input" (IO/GPIO/input), selected AUX_ADC_0
* Connected this to a "Arithmetic Shift" (Basic DSP/Arithmetic Operations) configured it to 12 to increase it's value using a simple binary math operation.
* Used the Shift output to control a "Single Slew Ext Vol" (Volume Controls/Adjustable Gain/Clickless HW Slew). I configured a exponential slews of 25.
* Fed the Stereo Audio signals from the main process into this Volume control.
* Fed the final ouput into my secondary output pair which I used for my headphones.
* I found that using a "DSP Readback", tied to the line that connects to the Volume control was useful to figure out what values it was reading and determining the multiply factors needed to amp up the ADC readings to useful values for the volume control. You can configure it to "Continues Read" for instant updates.
I hope this is useful for others. Overall I'm delighted with the DAC DSP. Planning to post other stuff in the future as I'm building a 2.1 (Stereo+subwoofer) + headphone + spdif out setup with hardware volume knobs for headphone and speakers.

I use a DAC+ DSP board, not the Beocreate one, so I'll have to do it without the exposed digital GPIO pins just the analogue ones. (unless the undocumented p2 or p3 have some of them? HiFiBerry team ) I'm documenting my project and should have a website for it up soon which i'll post here.

ah, I have the DAC+DSP too. but i want to use a poti at my beaocreate AMP too.
As this: rotary encoder for main volume and poti as additonal bass-adjust via ADCinput like you.
right now im using GPIO 9-12 for my rotary encoder, so where could i connect a poti to the beocreate??

With a potmeter you only need a single adc connector to measure and a potential (3.3V, not 5V in this case) and Ground. Looks like you need pins 10(3.3V) connected left, 2 (GND) right and 5 (DSP ADC0) connected to the center potmeter pin.
@Paul: You're right, there are no exposed GPIOs from the DSP on the DAC+ DSP. However, you can connect a rotary controller to the Pi's GPIO and control the volume this way, e.g. like this:

i got it worked finally but i have still one small problem:
my poti turns down teh volume when i trun it to the right and up when turned to the left. so ist the opposite it should be. i tried many different things, but nothing works... (changing pins...)

I would suspect you need to reverse the polarity by switching the 3.3V and ground. You could use have a multimeter so you can verify this.
I also noted that fiddling with these connections can somehow leave them in an unknown state. Pulling all power and starting with a fresh start did resolve some of the issues while I had when I was messing around.
omg so simple, even i told you that i switched the pins... haha works fine!
an other question:
i set the poti (shift) like this, that my range is from 0 to circa 1.0000 (value =1 means 100% throu). how can i set my lowest value to something just above 0.00? someting like a offset.
