Is it possible to add a hardware volume control to the Beocreate?
I find it difficult to adjust the volume in the kitchen from my living room..
I was thinking of adding some sort of + and - buttons to control the volume in the room itself. Would that be possible?

Hi Rop,
in general this is possible. There are GPIOs available on the Beocreate. However, there is no software that will just do this out-of-the-box. Projects like the one that you've linked should work, but they might need to be adapt to the correct ALSA control and the GPIOs,

And how does the alsa volume control that is added by the sigma-tcp server exactly work? Is it only linked to a specific dsp profile? I would like to add it into my DSP project in sigma studio. Volumio sees this control, but I can't use it at the moment and have to rely on software volume. That actually works fine for me for now, but I have a weird behaviour, when I turn down the volume to zero. Doing that results in occasional clicks and pops, what is a little annoying.
Here is a an overview of Sigma Studios GPIO conditioning library. Most of the controls are available for BeoCreates ADAU1451 DSP.

The links lead to examples on how to implement the controls into a DSP program. This is HW only so if you can get away with it, it might be quite helpful. Especially in stand alone mode this is an easy way to implement a volume control for the board.

the DSP profile provides information about volume control of the DSP program. dsptoolkit used this information. That means it is compatible with dsp profiles that provides a volume control and declare this in the DSP profile:
