Hi Daniel,
i have tested your latest relase, i can't say anything about Shairport, Spotifyd or Squeezelight but the sigmatcpserver did not start.
i think the dtparam=spi=on in the /boot/config.txt is missing
Stefan
Ooops. This looks like a problem while building the new version. I'll look into it.
Best regards;
Daniel
The 2nd problem with the profile upload was a xml file problem on my side, thats why i removed this info from my posting
I've just uploaded a new version. Airplay should work again now and SPI should also be enabled by default.

Hi, I posted to wrong forum earlier, sorry. I'm deploying another 5 HiFiberry endpoints (mix of DAC+ RCA and DAC+ XLR) and would like to switch to hifierryos. Currenly on DietPi, and need support for Roon and Spotify. Airplay is a nice to have as well.
Any ideas on when roon support might be available?
Hi Joku,
unfortunately we can't use the RoonBridge supplied by Roon for this as it's not compatible with our build system. We'll see what other options there are, but I can't say if and when it will be integrated into HiFiBerryOS.
Best regards,
Daniel
Hi HifiBerryTeam,
Tried the OS (hifiberryos-20190902-pi3.img) for RasPi3 3B+ with the Amp2 on a stereo Set of Tangband W3-871 Hornspeakers (8Ohms), connected via Bluetooth from my mobile. Seems to work fine for the moment and sounds way better than the China amp i had connected before.
Things I`ve noticed:
- loud "bangs" on startup/boot
- short interrupts during playback
Greetings,
Flo
Hi Florian,
about the loud "bangs" on startup. These come from the sound card probing. We need to check if we can find a way to supress this once the sound card has been detected.
Best regards,
Daniel
Great! Thanks for the quick response!
Is there any more info about all the features of the OS?
I havent read all of the Posts, but they seem to reach back to 2018. Has WiFi been included already?
Im still looking for a good, free possibility for synced Multiroom-Playback, is there a chance for such features to be included?
How about a frontend/UI/App? ...any work in progress?
Anyway, thanks for posting about the OS on Facebook, i stumbled upon it just in time. I am currently working on a BT Speaker and the previously purchased China-BT-Amp didn't satisfy at all. Luckily CNC production of the Box was planned for tomorrow, so i was able to edit the bottomplate fitted for the China-Board back to RasPi.
Best regards,
Flo
Hi,
you can find the available documentation here:
https://github.com/hifiberry/hifiberry-os/tree/master/doc
For FREE multiroom playback, you need to use LMS/Squeezelite. Roon is nicer, but it costs.
As Roon/Spotify/Airplay already have their own applications to control the service, we don't think another UI is needed. What functions are you missing in the existing control applications?
BTW: If you design your own speaker, this might be interesting:

Hi. is there any guide on how to configure Hifiberry OS? I have a new Pi 3 B+ with Digi+ and I get no audio from toslink, coax, usb or 3.5mm. I can see the Digi+ led light but toslink has no light from cable. Is there something I need to configure? Please help, thanks.
The system should be configured automatically. There is no support for onboard sound or USB, just HiFiBerry cards. What is your music source?
Best regards,
Daniel
I can not login. I type on SSH. usernam: HiFiBerry and password: hifiberry
However it said Access denied.
I use Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and HFB DAC+DSP.
Please help.
Thanks
was wifi ever implemented for this OS?
Yes:
https://github.com/hifiberry/hifiberry-os/blob/master/doc/wifi.md
This will be easier with the next release, but it works already with the latest version.
Best regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel, I tried music sources from airplay, bluettooth, spotify, upnp all have the same problem without sound.I tried using moodeaudio and can get sound from digi+ but I want to use your HiFiBerry OS as it is everything I need. Not sure what the problem is as I am not getting any sound at all. I have connected HDMI to the Pi though, not sure if it causes some conflict problems with the audio source? Please help, thanks.
Also, my amp shows COAX at 44.1 khz at inital boot and then changes to 176.4 khz once fully booted. Not sure if that is a problem? I have it at 192 khz runing moodeaudio
Okay tested again and I am getting sound from usb instead. Outputs from digi+ (coax and toslink) have absolutely no sound. Please help
Hi,
you have a USB sound card connected? In this case, you need to remove this one. What HiFiBerry card are you using?
Best regards,
Daniel
There is no sound even with just coax and ethernet connected to the pi. It's a Digi+ standard.
Ok, in this case, please login (root/hifiberry) and run the command
aplay -l
Best regards,
Daniel
# aplay -l

Ok, what happens when you run
play -n synth sine 1000
Do you get an output now?
Best regards,
Daniel
i am not getting any sound
# play -n synth sine 1000

That's strange. Do you see the output lighting up? Do you see an input signal on your receiver.
The toslink is lighting up so I guess the coax is also working but i am not getting any input at all.
Hmm, my best guess in this case would be a defective SD card. This can result in all kinds of crazy behaviour. I would recommend a fresh installation on another SD card if the same hardware was working before.
i don't think it's the sd card as i have ran hifiberry os on two brand new cards and the result is the same. i can run moode audio and do some tests to confirm that the card is working from there. would these commands be the same?
Also, the Digi+ card (Pi 3 Digi+ bundle) is brand new. I got this just a few days ago
Unfortunately I can't say what else it might be. You can wait for the next HiFiBerryOS release that should be available in the next days and try this again.
Best regards,
Daniel
I am actually running into same problem as Ridney Laudiano above while running the latest version on raspberry pi 3.

play -n synth sine 1000 gives the same play WARN alsa: can't encode 0-bit Unknown or not applicable error.
