Digi+ I/O with digital XLR output socket

A dream would be a board very similar to the hifiberry Digi+ I/O but with a 110 ohms XLR socket at the output.

Input is all right in RCA / optical because devices are for public. So their output are 75 ohms spdif or optical.

But output will go to professional devices (digital filters, DAC) with digital XLR input. (to support AES/EBU standard under 110 ohms)

this demand is very similar (or the same) to Dan demand.

Hardware development should be short (only the output shaper and socket will change)

  Fabrice, I have found that the interface conversions detailed at https://www.rane.com/note149.html work very well to translate between AES/EBU and S/PDIF.

  I'd love to see a DIGI+ I/O with AES/EBU in and out. It probably needs transformers and the connectors. But, it is a new set of PC boards for a pretty low volume use. It might be easier to implement with high quality 1/8" T-R-S connectors than the XLR-3 the spec calls for. The digital audio wouldn't care but it would make it mechanically easier for a Pi hat board to manage.
