Lossless Recording from DAT to PI

Hello everyone, I am looking to make a Lossless audio system with the Raspberry PI 2 for my dad's old studio recordings. My dad has old Digital Audio Tape Player and wants them on CD and digital. My dad had a recording studio in Nashville recording local to big stars. He is from the reel to reel audio quality with superior sound to what we have now. So I really want to make a audio/CD recorder/ripper with only lossless quality. I have a project from https://somewideopenspace.wordpress.com/2013/12/22/yahcdramorpig/ to rip audio tracks from CD. I need to know what hardware and software I need to get started. Simple project links to bery detailed information walcome!

Hi,

the Digi+I/O could be used for this. There is a lot of recording software avialble, but I don't have specific experience with any of those. You might just try "arecord". I'm not aware of any guides about this as the Raspberry Pi is rarely used for audio recording, but mostly for audio playback.

Hi,

no, you can record the music directly on the Raspberry Pi. You don't need a CD burner. You only need a software on the Raspberry Pi that can record.
