Digi+ I/O output limited to 48Khz regardless of player

Hi

I use a Raspi 5 with Digi+ I/O hat. The SP/DIF output is connected to a Cambridge Audio DACMGIC200M. My OS is

Linux sbraspi 6.12.20+rpt-rpi-2712 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 1:6.12.20-1+rpt1~bpo12+1 (2025-03-19) aarch64 GNU/Linux

It looks as if (regardless which music player I use) the output is limited to 48Khz. I tried mplayer with a 24bit/192Khz FLAC encoded file as well as with a simple MP3 file. Chrome and Firefox give the same result, using the player.qobuz.com and other websites with 24/192 streams: Always limited to 48Khz.

Is there any setting for the driver I missed? aplay says:

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: sndrpihifiberry [snd_rpi_hifiberry_digi], device 0: HifiBerry Digi HiFi wm8804-spdif-0 [HifiBerry Digi HiFi wm8804-spdif-0]
  Subdevices: 0/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

Thank you and happy Easter!

Regards Stefan B.
