Is it possible to combine the STUDIO DAC8X with an S/PDIF input? I want to use the PI5/CamillaDSP as a standalone DSP platform with the lowest possible latency. What would be the best solution as a digital input for the PI5?
I read the blog post about combining sound cards, but I'm confused. It doesn't work, but sometimes it does.
It does NOT work. You can only add the ADC8x add-on to the DAC8x
So then the only options would be USB gadget mode or network protocols like AES67. Or some SPI mess or something. I'll have to think about it.
I have had exactly the same question. I ended up using an TOSLINK to USB input to the Raspi. I have no idea whether this is the lowest possible latency solution. But this was not of interest to me because of the inherent filter latency in CamillaDSP. Best regards. Stephan
