Hi, I'd like to ask if I could add a headphone amp like a chip based on TPA6112 to the output pins of the HifiBerry DAC2 ADC in parallel. If so, do I have to add other components?
I must not necessarily use both at a given time.
I'd plan to connect the amp board signal ins to the lines which go to the output jacks and supply power over the 5V power lines of the Hifiberry board (P3 or J5 connector).
In general: Yes. If this boards has a low input impedance, you might have a slightly worse low-frequency response. However, this is something you can simply try. In most cases, you won't hear a big difference.

So I finally got the amp and tried it. It works and like you said there is a little weak low end on the headphones. I'd also say there is a bit of high end missing as well. Do you think there can be done something about it?
My best guess is that this is just the characteristics of this amplifier.
