Hi, My sister won a Raspberry Pi 3a+ in some competition a few years ago, she hasn't done anything with it, is still unopened in packaging. Anyway I mentioned that I was thinking of building a audio player/streamer so I can play my FLAC files outputting to my hi-fi amp, she said I can have the 3a+ as she doesn't see herself using it for anything. So I've noticed that the 3a+ is a different format to most of the other RP boards, it does have the 40 pin header though. Can I use audio hats such as the DAC boards I've seen, or is the 3a+ not compatible with these boards?

HiFiBerry team Yes, you can. The 3A uses the same GPIOs as the oter Pi's
