DAC8X 8 channel output

Hi, I want to use the DAC8X with cardinal (vcvrack-ish) on a Pi5

Installed the driver etc without problem.

I made a 8 channel audio test file which plays fine on all 8 outputs. So driver works and card works..

I started first with a pipewire and pipewire-jack combo as cardinal only supports multiple audio output channels via jack. Result: no matter what i tried i never managed to see more than two output channels but at least i got output but the jack side of things never sees more than 2 channels

After this i removed pipewire and pulse-audio completely and installed the jack software. Now i do see 8 channels for output BUT i can get any sound out of the setup. 

If anyone could point my to a setup/tutorial or better working config for or pipewire in combination with jack in which alll the 8 channels are exposed or a config for jack in which i indeed does output audio...

 Any help MUCH appreciated

  Ok, just solved the issue with a little help from chatgtp

  I now have it working with pipewire in combination with jack and I just needed to add the following lines in the context.objects section of the pipewire.conf file.

      { factory = adapter
          args = {
              factory.name           = api.alsa.pcm.sink
              node.name              = "alsa_output.hifiberry_dac8x"
              node.description       = "HiFiBerry DAC8x Output"
              media.class            = "Audio/Sink"
              api.alsa.path          = "hw:0"  
              audio.format           = "S32_LE"
              audio.rate             = 48000
              audio.channels         = 8
           }
      }
